Download the test version of Minecraft 1.17.40.20 on Android, which introduces a new biome called Stone Peaks, located at the transition between warm and cold biomes. This update includes 19 changes, 28 bug fixes, and 31 technical innovations. The Stone Peaks biome is a warm variation of Snowy and High Peaks, covered in stone and gravel.
Among the experimental features are adjustments to Mountain Meadows vegetation, the limited generation of drip formation and dropper traits in Karst Cave, and the appearance of infested blocks under new Mountains. The update also moves clouds to level y=192, changes biome locations, river sizes, and landscape shapes, and deepens tree growth in swamps. Additionally, new ore distribution, elements of the Mountain biome, and spawning frequency of mobs in mountains and caves have been implemented.
Four new features have been added, including Hives generated in the northern direction, improvements in Mapmakers' map creation, and the removal of Armour display on Bandits and Raiders while retaining their effects. Developers have also noticed an issue with bee nests being generated too frequently in this version.
Furthermore, there are 31 technical changes for addon development, such as the support for the Render Dragon graphics engine on mobile devices (ARMv7). This update aims to enhance the gameplay experience by introducing new content and addressing existing issues.
